Well, after I noticed you nice 'drive-by' comment on my profile, I decided to grace you with my presence and try to deliver a comment or two as show of thanks. Now, as note of fact, photography is quite far from my field of usual interest so if I add less than usual detail, I apologise, but I simply can't...
As far as originality goes, this actually a rather unusual perspective artistically as most people in the business of photography or digital/traditional art do not take. It's fresh and frankly I can't think how you could have been more original with it - most people seem to like panorama shots of horizon but you opted to take a shot at the sky. Ingenious indeed, as long as you don't end up like Icarus....hmm off topic, that.
Vision of this particular piece was very immense if that ad hoc piece in description was anything to go by. It was a fresh idea and your vision was very good indeed, and you took the shot when it hit you.
Next part is joint between technique and vision; it was the detail that was the only real hiccup of the project so to speak - in general, the piece could do with more ... detail of the natural life in this landscape piece. Otherwise, there is some minor distortion on the edge caused your camera's depth of field, but it's nothing you could really do, so less than relevant.
It's a piece that's not meant to shock with content nor does it have dazzling detail with bright vivid colour - it's a rather calm piece that takes a moment to 'absorb' as you look at it and it makes it perhaps less 'shocking' or 'impacting' but it fits with the vision and that counts the most. It's serene in the end, with some contrast because of white/black contrast but it's not a shocking contrast; it's a soft colour change.
I hope this is of use to you - it's not my usual 'cup of tea' so I may be a bit out touch.
Thanks...want another one?
Aw thanks But no, I think there's many more artists that would love to get a critique from you as well, I already get my share
aww, thank you very much! I'm happy with your critique, it's very insightful and I appreciate it a lot
